School’s finally out and with a fun filled summer holiday ahead of them, we just had to say goodbye to our kids in a very special way. On the 5th of December the Christmas tunes were playing and the Christmas lights were winking. The Ligstad hall was packed with excited kids, volunteers and special guests. Dr. Tienie Kunneke opened the festivities with a beautiful message about the true meaning of Christmas after which a wonderful feast like no other was enjoyed. The highlight of the day was when the kids stepped forward to receive their Christmas presents, a beautiful reminder of the gift the world received the day our Lord and Savior was born.
Ligstad would like to thank the greater Alberton area for their continued support throughout the year. Thank you to Marian and her team at the Papillon Foundation, as well as the Shoe Box Santa Project for sponsoring our children’s gifts this year. Thank you to Mr. Willie Croeser and Johnny’s Caterers for spoiling the children, volunteers and staff with a marvelous Christmas lunch. Last but not least, thank you to the members of the Dutch Reformed Church Alberton West and Alberton East for your generous donations to our Christmas project.
